Benefits of Changing Tables

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Changing tables generally have extra storage space to keep your baby’s diapers and clothing. There is plenty of space on top to house lotions, wipes and a changing pad.

Changing your baby is easy with an attached changing station. The station helps to secure the changing pad that holds the baby in place.

Most changing tables are designed to have a hutch attached once the baby no longer needs to be changed. The added hutch provides additional storage space and adds to the décor of your child’s room.

Baby Changing Station

Saturday, October 10, 2009

At about 7 months of age, babies learn to roll over.  Hundreds of babies  are injured in falls while having their diapers changed.  Diaper changing is usually done on a changing table with or without a changing station.

Here are a few tips for keeping your baby safe:
     1. Keep one hand on the baby at all times.
     2. Use a changing station that has sides to keep baby from rolling off.
     3. A changing pad should also have sides.
     4. Keep fresh diapers, powders and lotions within reach before starting the diaper change.
     5. Do not place your baby on an unstable surface such as a couch where the risk of falling is greater.

Essential Changing Table Features

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

One essential piece of furniture for every set of new parents is a baby changing table. For optimum convenience, this should be located in the baby’s nursery. It’s obviously useful for changing diapers, but can also be used to change baby’s clothes and to keep baby stationary to apply lotion or administer medicine. For the most success with any baby activity, every changing table should have certain helpful features.

For example, my baby changing table has tons of storage space. There are several drawers to hold all my baby’s clothes within easy reach for quick clothing changes. Plenty of shelves provide overhead storage for diapers, wipes, and toys that I can grab to entertain my baby while I’m changing him. I have lots of room between the changing area and the first shelf, so I hung a colorful mobile from the bottom of the shelf to keep my baby distracted. These features help keep my baby happy and keep me sane and organized!

Baby Nursery

Monday, March 09, 2009

In the United States, a nursery is usually a room devoted to the care of a baby from birth for at least several years. A baby’s nursery typically contains a crib, a changing table or changing dresser for the purpose of changing diapers and sometimes a chair or rocking chair.

A changing table or dresser is the ideal place to keep all the necessary items such as diapers, powders and oils, blankets etc. With everything in one convenient place, your job of changing will be quick and easy. Oh, yes, don’t forget to have a container for refuse.

Unique Baby Shower Gifts

Monday, December 22, 2008

Though there are dozens, even hundreds of items you could purchase to help out a new mother in preparing for her newborn, it’s not always easy to know what to purchase.  There’s always the risk that you will buy something the parents own, or that another friend or family member has bought.  Here are a few gift ideas that the new mom and dad have likely not considered, but are none the less helpful:

~Changing Table – changing diapers can be one of the least pleasant responsibilities of having a newborn, anything that can make it easier will surely help out the parents!

~Clothes for 6mo-1yr ~ babies grow fast and go through clothes quickly; most people will buy clothes for a newborn, but purchasing clothes for a few months or even a year down the road will save a lot of time and money.

~Burp Cloths – these are invaluable to have for those messy feeding sessions, and when the baby happens to be a little fussy.
