Keep Your Baby’s Head Warm

Sunday, December 27, 2009

Keeping your baby’s head warm is important during cold weather.  We loose a lot of heat through our heads, so by keeping our heads warm, we also help keep our whole body warm.  This is also true with babies.

Baby topee, cap, hat, etc.. are all cute and desinged to keep your baby’s warm.  You might want to pull the side over your baby’s ears to keep them cozy warm also.  Organic topees are made from cotton or wool will not only keep your baby warm, but will also have no harmful chemicals added.

Winter Time

Sunday, December 13, 2009

Winter time is here.  You will want to keep your baby warm and cozy.  You could use a baby blanket, but there are also baby baggies.  Your can get baggies with long sleeves, or without sleeves and use a baby tee to help keep your baby warm without getting tangled up.  Babies like to kick at night and can sometimes get entangled with a blanket.

The baggie is usually designed to help with changing the baby’s diaper.  It can have a zipper or tie enclosure at the bottom so you can get access to the diaper.  As with any baby clothing, I recommend organic.  Not only will your baby be warm and cozy, but he will look adorable in his sleeping bag.

Crib Recalls

Wednesday, December 09, 2009

There have been more crib recalls for baby cribs that have a drop down side.  The mechanism that allows the side to drop down can become weakened or loose allowing babies to get their heads stuck between the mattress and the crib side.

After hearing of these recalls and the danger a drop down side can pose to babies, I believe a baby crib with a height adjustment is best.  Most cribs with height adjustments use a manual system such as a hook and peg system.  Since the there are no moving parts the crib is more secure.

Moms and Dads Most

Tuesday, December 08, 2009

Both Moms and Dads are important to a baby.  When asked what you do for a living or as your job, let people know you have the most important job there is, raising your child.  Whether your are a stay at home Mom or Dad, you have the position that makes all the difference to your baby.

What is your moral and belief system?  What is your baby learning?  Only you can teach your child your morals and beliefs.  So remember this, when you are holding your baby swaddled in his baby blanket, being with your baby, you hold the most important job you will ever have.

We care about babies and infants.  We write our blogs to provide you with tips and information for you to use when making decisions about your baby.

However, My Mom always told me not to just take her word but to do my own research.  Then make a decision using my own judgement with the facts I found.  Whether you decide to use organic baby bedding, blankets, etc… for your baby, it is your decision.  We just want to provide some information to help you make your own decisions.

Topees

Tuesday, December 01, 2009

Topees are cute and practical. An organic knit topee will keep your newborn’s head warm and protected from drafts and weather. They are usually used just for newborns and come in sizes from 0 to 6 months, although some stores offer larger sized pullovers they call topees.

A topee according to the dictionary refers to a pith helmet with a brim to protect the eyes from the sun.  A toupee is a men’s hairpiece.  When we refer to a topee, we mean a baby’s pullover cap to keep the head warm. The really cute ones come to a peak so that you can tie a little knot at the top. Organic topees make great gifts, too.
